Like international litigation, in the field of international arbitration, our firm has demonstrated our leadership, and our experience is second to none.
In addition to representing clients in international arbitrations, Eric Sherby has served as an arbitrator in several cases, and he is recognized internationally as an authority on international arbitration. Articles of his on international arbitration have been published in several languages, including by the American Bar Association (multiple sections), the New York State Bar Association, and the Israeli Bar Association. A full list of his publications in the field can be accessed here.
When the Israeli Institute of Commercial Arbitration (the “IICA”) decided that it needed a set of international rules, it turned to Eric Sherby to draft them. Years later, when the IICA decided to establish a newsletter on international arbitration, it turned to Mr. Sherby to serve as editor. He has, for several years, served as a member of the panel of arbitrators of the IICA.
The attorneys in our firm have handled dozens of international arbitrations, before Israeli arbitrators and before the American Arbitration Association, the International Chamber of Commerce, FINRA, and the London Maritime Arbitration association. We have also litigated the enforceability and scope of arbitration clauses, before Israeli and American courts.
We are regularly contacted by other Israeli lawyers to advise as to matters involving the enforceability of arbitral awards.
In 2013, our firm was the first (and so far only) Israeli law firm to conduct a survey of the views of Israeli in-house counsel concerning (primarily) international arbitration. Results from our surveys were published by the American Bar Association and The Recorder (San Francisco's leading legal newspaper) and in academic papers on international arbitration.
Mr. Sherby is a frequent lecturer before business groups in Israel on the topic of international arbitration, and he has lectured on international arbitration at Bar Ilan University and the Interdisciplinary Center.
